Putin‘a spokesman Peskov who’s famous for notoriously making public statements in complete opposition to reality, which gave birth to meme “Don’t believe anything about Russia before Peskov denies it”, just denied the second wave of total conscription.
This might make you laugh, but later today Peskov denied the news of closed borders despite multiple reports to the contrary.
The Russian government is a joke.
@Vonzales They had trouble equipping the first wave, and provided only minimal training, before sending them into a meat grinder. Will this be even worse?
@Coctaanatis they are going to have trouble equipping new conscripts too, but a) it's still an army capable of killing Ukrainians, and b) no one in the Kremlin gives a damn. This war must go on if they want to stay in power.
Today's news from Russia: all males of "military age" are forbidden to leave the country. Those who already left were announced "traitors of the state". Putin's seat-warmer Medvedev make a public post in his Telegram channel calling for their assassination wherever they live and work now.
