@Booga It's really not complicated.
Without capitalism there is no competition.
Without competition there is no quality products.
Without quality products there is no adequate living standards.
I grew up in the Soviet Union. It was shit. And Russia, which is stuck in their commie past with the same old re-badged commie leadership, including senile old commie lunatic Putin, is still shit.
@OldCountryDoctor @Vonzales not only the richest mean but also the meanest mean. ;)
Yes, I am not sure how you reconcile the wealth of the oligarch's and communism.
@OldCountryDoctor @Vonzales yes, it totally works for me too, but as you say something of an understatement.
He is just pure evil.
@Vonzales I agree, my comment was aimed more toward the commercialisation of Christmas.
@Vonzales ...one other thing, competition doesn't always promote quality. Quality often plays second fiddle to profitability.
It does increase choice however, but typically quality comes at a price.
Rampant capitalism isn't that much better than communism in my opinion.
But I have been fortunate enough to live in a capitalist country that has social health care.
@Booga Rampant anything is a no good extreme, that's why we have laws to provide order.
Communist laws are designed almost exclusively to protect the ruling class and make them immune from any accountability or pressure from the public.
Laws in every successful capitalist country are aimed at maximizing state's AND businesses' accountability.
It's a world of difference.
@Vonzales @Booga
And ironically Putin is probably one of the richest mean in the world thanks to capitalism … Hypocrisy anyone?
