Fun fact: The state party of Minnesota affiliated to the national Democrats is not actually called the Democratic Party of Minnesota or the Minnesota Democrats or anything like that.

That's because historically it's a fusion between the Democrats and another Minnesota party, the Farmer-Labor party, that existed 1918-1944.

The state party is therefore the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, or the DFL for short.
