Finally managed to get back to a routine that included walking nearby trails next to agricultural fields. Warm days are upon us with less rain so plants are starting to #flower. There are a few invasive species that have sprouted and made their presence known: Mary Silybum Marianum (aka milk thistle; variegated thistle; blessed milk thistle; Virgin Mary's thistle). There are huge patches of this thistle and it'll be a purple carpet. #Nature #photography #hike
Another invasive species also starting to flower is Vicia villosa ssp. varia (aka Smooth vetch, Thick fruited vetch, Winter vetch, Woollypod vetch). Just like the thistle, there are huge patches of this vetch and it'll cover large swaths of land near the flood control channel. #hike, #flowers #nature #photography
