we can disagree civilly. you also curate what you want to see in YOUR feed.

I've been seeing a lot of newcomers expressing overwhelm about the firehose. If you want, you can hide it. Go into settings & turn on "ostrich mode," & there you go! Also, if you just want it to pause while you finish reading a post, scroll down away from the top, & it will stop constantly refreshing. Also, also, hashtags & filters are your friends! You can pin hashtags as their own feed column if you're using CoSo on your desktop. It's a lot like TweetDeck that way. #cosotips #firehosetips

Another thing for #CosoNewbies to know about this site: This is not an edgelord site. We don't care how resisty you are. You won't build thousands of followers like that here. Why? Because no algorithm, no trending topics. This is your chance to be human again, and deal with others person to person.

My advice to the new folks joining our lovely dinner party tonight:

1) Unclench, you've been in a horrible self protective mode. You don't need to worry much about that here.

2) Post about what you love or interests you. Folks will find you and pretty soon you'll have a lovely little circle to share and enjoy with.

and if you do see a troll, just report them and block them. You'll be amazed but troll spotting is a game here. They don't last.
