We need to be prepared that the hard line GOP will seize on the reports that the Nashville shooter identified as trans. They will absolutely use it as justification for further cruelty against the trans community.

Ok first of all…the Colorado shooter wasn’t non-binary. That was a legal defense to try and skirt hate crime charges. Dude was vehemently anti-LGBT on social media.

BUT EVEN INCLUDING HIM, you found 4 examples. Out of the ocean of mass shooters. An overwhelming majority of which are:

White (Over 50%)
Male (Over 85%)

This talking point that trans people doing mass shootings is a clear obfuscation from the real conversation about access to firearms and a lack of mental health services.
