Today, I went in a crazy adventure up my island. I visited an old growth temperate rainforest, that’s home to a few trees that are over 800 years old!

Approximately 300 stairs, but they lead to the most beautiful beachfront views!!!

😩 I definitely do NOT recommend bamboo tubing for mason bees, as it harbours pollen mites and chalkbrood. Nevertheless, a queen has decided to make the tubing her nesting place. I will figure out a way to safely remove the cocoons in the fall 💕🐝

Oh my goodness… So….all but 3 of over 30 cocoons have hatched (so far). Yay! That’s around 30 Mason bees that have emerged and are roaming around, pollinating my neighbourhood!!! 🐝 💕

Ohmergerd….I just love this aircraft - an older Lockheed CC-130 Hercules 😍 It’s stationed at CFB Comox. Definitely a thing of beauty. Can’t wait to see it fly on the 18th.
