@LiberalLibrarian have you tried a luxardo cherry with it? Pricey but just right:)
And not getting judgy, what whisky/whiskey is appropriate in a librarian’s home?
@LiberalLibrarian sorry, I am usually good as a pedant but for some reason chose to not be clear in my question, but appreciate the response. I was more specifically wondering about the alcohol portion of your old fashioned. I suppose I could try using a single malt with the bitters and simple syrup, but on a rock (frozen granite stones, I’m in New Hampshire after all) seems like a better way for moderating my rate of consumption.
@Valkaru Ah, sorry! 2.5oz bourbon, .5oz simple syrup, and for the bitters I used Fee Bros., which for my money is the best out there.
@Valkaru Oh Lordy, what whisk(e)y isn't? For scotch I prefer single malts from the Highlands or Speyside, as they're usually not peaty. For bourbon? So many good options. Evan Williams bottled in bond is excellent for the price point.
