If the GOP has taught us anything, it's that we must never again leave laws with wiggle room for interpretation, under the assumption that common sense and human decency will be utilized by or even exist within the people in positions of authority.

Simplify for those who lack common sense.

I heard a woman on the radio livid that her local hospital was closing the maternity ward and she would have to drive 45 minutes to the nearest hospital. It was Prez Joe's fault for giving all the money to his rich friends along with George Soros.

This is her 7th pregnancy and the last two were delivered in the truck as they couldn't make the 10 minute trip to the hospital. But mah hospital...

Common sense and human decency are no longer values of American governance.

@VaGyver One principle of public administration WAS that those who must implement laws have an out: they must understand the INTENT of those who made the law. If they don't, they can refuse to implement until it's cleared up.

@VaGyver History teaches us that there is no silver bullet to prevent this. You can have watertight laws all you want - if you vote in the wrong people, they will simply pass something like the Ermächtigungsgesetz (Enabling Act of 1933). Vigilance before the vote and public resistance afterward are the only ways to restrict power-hungry people.
