Okay, so now FBI has Confirmed Thomas Matthew Crooks was the shooter according to Phil Williams, reporter for News Channel 5 in Nashville, Tenn.
@Usama_Backhair Alright - the shooter turning out to be a Republican means this'll probably turn into a real fun political shitshow.
It would've been bad if it turned out to be a Democrat; they would've milked that HARD for political points.
It's much harder to milk an assassination attempt for political points if the perp is a member of the same party. Sectarianism doesn't pull votes.
It seems VERY likely this will be a nucleation site for significant infighting within the Republican party.
