Having a little personal quiet time before the house wakes up.
Today is my dad's 81st birthday. He will not see 82. All he wants for a present is to see his grandkids, a cup of quality strong coffee, and a chocolate cupcake. And I can get him all of that. Today will be a win.

His flight is done. The proud 101st screaming eagle has flow this place. His pain is gone and I know he's giving my mom and brothers all big hugs for me. Because he told me he would.

@Urbankidx4 This is never easy. But we keep them alive, through the parts of them, which are now part of us. When you hear yourself say something they would say, or laugh at something they'd have found funny. When we do an act of kindness, or do the right thing, bc that's who they were, and that's who they raised us to be. No one who is loved, ever really goes away.
