Speaking of stupid in this country, I have to tell someone this story. I still mask in public because of my wife's cancer and chemotherapy. People will occasionally inquire about it, but they always back off when I explain.
Yesterday I had a run in with a customer, an alpha male maga who ORDERED me to remove the mask, because COVID was a hoax and always had been. I disagreed and explained why. He declared my explanation bullshit, told me to fuck off, and again demanded I remove the mask.
I kept the mask on, told him my wife's life mattered more to me than his ignorant opinion, and to take his merchandise and leave. We did NOT part on good terms.
His parting shot? "We'll be back for you, Kamala Communist."
I have serious doubts that things in this country will settle down unless we kick some serious ass in November and afterward.

@LiberalLibrarian I already own guns. I used to hunt when I was younger. I still maintain them, but have fired one in years.
I DID however use my lunch hour to buy pepper spray for my wife and I. It will be in my pocket at work, store rules or no store rules.
My bear & wasp sprays were stolen when my van was vandalized. I don’t feel as safe without it. Especially since Abby left.

Yep. Personally I would love to see mask mandates return in all indoor public places. Also honestly my antisocial self wouldn't mind another lock down but I'll settle for masks. Plus... Do those inbred fuckwits really think they're too pretty to hide? They're fucking ugly, put a mask on that thing.
@Liliki @TwiHusband HAHAHAHA! I still wear a mask inside public places especially when I go grocery shopping….only God knows what anyone has. Never got Covid for following this safety protocol. And yes, most of these hillbilly dumbasses need a mask….they look more human with them as opposed to without hahahahaha 😂😂
@Liliki ROTFLMAO! How did you know? This asshole had that reddened bumpy complexion that goes with extensive alcohol abuse, and his left cheek had a deeply incised "X" shaped scar that looked almost deliberate.
@TwiHusband I'm sorry that happened to you but well done standing up for her and you. I also still mask indoors and crowded outdoors and so far have yet to be harassed - by anyone I don't know. And there's a big wave right now.
I haven’t been harassed but have gotten a couple of glares. The last time, another woman & I were browsing in a pharmacy. She gave me a look, so I waited a beat, then started coughing inside my mask while lazily & kind of “randomly” following her. This is not typical of me, but that day, I just wanted to test whether she believed Covid was real or not. Apparently she did because pretty quickly, she decided it was time to go. 😉Not my best behavior, but devilish fun.

I’m so sorry you had to be subjected to that idiot, especially after your explanation as to why you wear the mask. I do the same for the same reason. The Mister has cancer & is undergoing chemo.
I had an instance myself & that person laughed in my face after I explained I had no idea what germs HE had I could infect the Mister with & why. I stood ground telling him if he didn’t move his ass away I’d show him what I was capable of. Security was in earshot. He left. I was pissed.
