The sad part is, they're totally obvious about it, and anyone with two brain cells to rub together can see it, well beforehand. It says something about electorates around the world. Stupid seems to be the rule, rather than the exception. Even the Liberals aren't immune to it. Look at the "Uncommitted" stunt in Michigan last night. Morons.
If we don't gut the GOP in November, I look for death and poverty on a grand scale in this country, and around the world, while the rich get richer.

@TwiHusband I think it's partly because politicians and the media (whether intentionally or not) succeeded in creating, to borrow a term I saw on a CNN opinion piece yesterday, "polititainment." It's no longer about what's best for the country, it's now closer to a sporting event. The electorate is more focused on their team "winning" and defeating the opponent's party. What it means from a policy and/or legislative perspective is barely (if at all) considered.
@Synical RE: The Media. It's intentional. The 1% own the media, and they want their Robber Baronies" back. Before 1929, they effectively ruled this country as an unelected aristocracy. They've spent the last 80 odd years trying to undo FDR's New Deal. And the idiot electorate gets them a little closer to that with every election.
