And it isn't THAT different. Trump had, and still has, tens of millions of "good Christians" supporting him.

Terrified, because of how close we came, and how close we still are.

Disgusted, because so many people are so incredibly stupid and toxic that they refuse to learn from history. They just want to hate and hurt to make themselves feel better about their own failure in life.

@Wbtphdjd Robert Heinlein wrote some pretty good science fiction, for being something of a libertarian anarchist asshole, but something he said sticks with me. "Crazy, stupid, and evil are hard to tell apart for an outside observer. Because, based on their results, they look pretty much alike."

@Wbtphdjd And yet, here we are, 80 plus odd years later, looking down the barrel of the #christofascist nazification of our country. Apparently no one learned anything from 1935 to 1946. Not the people who love authoritarians, nor those that should be resisting them.

Watching this all play out in our country has me beating my head on the table.
