It occurs to me that any anti-fascist groups forming or strengthening right now should seriously consider moving to an app like Signal - or migrating to here - to avoid the inevitable fallout that using "regular" social media will cause them.

Authoritarian dictators think nothing of threatening the world order to get their own way, and over the next 4 years, no one will be doing this more often than Trump, Vance, Musk and RFK Jr..

There are a lot of people out there who have experienced horrible, traumatic things, sometimes as children, sometimes as adults.

But for a big fraction of those people, I guess their reaction is not "I will make sure that what happened to me never happens to anyone ever again" but "It happened to me and I got through it, so it's okay if I do the same thing to others. They'll deal with it just like I did."

Sucks that usually when someone is speaking into a microphone and says, "It says in the bible..." that it's going to be their interpretation of some excuse to hurt other people.

You know, once the Athenians overthrew the 30 Tyrants (imposed on them by Sparta after their defeat) and restored democracy, they didn't invite them back in four years later.

America has totally betrayed the Founders.

I mostly lurk and don't say much. I don't usually have the spoons to socialize after dealing with people and stresses all day long.

There are exceptionally lovely folk here at CoSo. I just want to thank you all for being here helping, encouraging kindness, bravery, knowledge, and snarky absurd humor.
