It saddens me deeply that so many folks - especially newer Americans like myself - fall into the trap of "model minority" thinking.

I've seen it in South Asian and East Asian tech workers, 2nd+ generation Latinos, and upwardly-mobile Black men. Folks who are a-OK with MAGA because they think they are "the good ones" - it's *those* minorities *over there* that are the problem.

I pray we don't all get to learn - again - that racists don't make distinctions and don't make exceptions.

It's an interesting divergence to watch..

Republicans who had no problem with Reagan creating and popularizing the demeaning trope of the welfare queen now needing to decide if Trump and his legions have carried Trump's own brands of dehumanization too far.

At what point it is too much? And why wasn't it too much at the beginning of Reagan's malicious callousness?
