“One week from today, you will have the chance to make a decision that directly impacts your life, the life of your family, and the future of this country we love,” she said. “[I]t will probably be the most important vote you ever cast. And this election is more just than a choice between two parties and two different candidates. It is a choice about whether we have a country rooted in freedom for every American or ruled by chaos and division.”

@Queasy I think the problem is so much deeper. I can have a say? In what exactly? The brave new world where laws are only for regulars? That one? Trump belongs in jail, SCOTUS is corrupt, the entire system is clearly corrupt. Everyone knows Trump is guilty of insurrection, but he walked right away from it. So America, please pardon me if I don’t jump up and down about sending a woman who I believe is a way better choice than Trump into a completely broken diseased construct
@MidnightRider I agree but there is a qualitative difference between the imperfect implementation of a promise of justice and equality for all and the outright abandonment of this promise. @Queasy
@ToruOkada All the last years of my life have taught me is the suspicion that rich people break laws every day and laugh at us is no longer a suspicion. My cousin works in Washington for the government. Do you know what he told me they say when rebates go out to the public? They call it slopping the hogs, they laugh at us behind our back and how easily misled we are.
@MidnightRider No doubt about it. I find it nonetheless troubling that a large proportion of society now embraces neoserfdom in the hope that they will somehow receive favoritism for obedience. Newsflash - this is not how serfdom works.
@MidnightRider I think this is a worldwide phenomenon due to the progressive accumulation of money in the hands of only some people who use their power to destroy Earth. We should get our joy from resisting their calls to surrender everything, even in small, everyday acts.
@ToruOkada Thank you, but I am fine. I’m in the best physical health I can possibly be in. Frankly, I see it completely the reverse of you. Everyone should be depressed that this country doesn’t give a shit if a felon becomes president again. Additionally, Trump destroyed families with his stupid bullshit, so yeah I am a little depressed about all of that.
@MidnightRider Well, me too. And I don't even live in the US of A. But it is the same shit in Europe.
Good thing that I practiced being gloomy during adolescence in the goth and dark wave scene. :)
@ToruOkada Tierney has a lot of flavors. When I watch those ancient alien shows, it becomes very clear that regular human beings have been running for their lives for as long as there have been regular human beings. Once retired, you are firmly in the subset of regular human beings.
@ToruOkada Agreed 💯
@MidnightRider Having said this - I read some posts of yours in the past weeks that I find concerning. From what I read, you might be going through an episode of depression. Have you considered talking to a real-life friend or healthcare professional about it? Sorry, if I am overstepping here - I will delete this post if you want me to.
