It occurs to me that, for the TikTok generation, voting for Trump is something akin to the Tide Pod challenge (and similar stunts): this really stupid, poisonous thing that you do because 'everybody else' is doing it and you don't want to be the last person to be a self-harming idiot.

@DavidSalo This is my 19yr old son's first election. He's the only one of his male group of friends that voted for Kamala/Walz. Leading up to election, he said she wasn't going to win. His assessment was that Trump was winning over a lot of young men (uneducated about basic Civics) who have been made to feel like criminals for just being men coupled with being afraid of the libtard tag.
