Beyond furious today. @Mrs_Bones had a meeting with the big bosses today. The Board of Directors dismissed our Administrator from the latest meeting, voted a new CEO in and his opinion is that he needs to "trim the fat" because employees get paid too much. Which means that unless they can justify their jobs, firing the entire management staff, including Mrs Bones, and other employees with 30+ YEARS of experience working with our clients (adults with disabilities).

That all sucks.
Some hedge-fund asshole opined that remote workers are bad now, all evidence to the contrary, so companies everywhere are cracking down. My husband’s workplace just said remote workers have to be in office 3 days a week, unless they’ve jumped through some hoops.
@TomeReader our remote workers answer their phones all hours of the day and night. They don't keep office hours. They call and do trainings on overnight shifts. Evening shifts, weekends, holidays. To force them to come back into the office is just a power move. He's just flexing his authority over them @Heucuva8
@Mrs_Bones @Heucuva8
Sound like he doesn’t even understand what you do! I’m very sorry this is happening.
@Mrs_Bones @Heucuva8
Sounds, not sound. My fingers are dumb.
@TomeReader @Mrs_Bones @Heucuva8 My 50+ years working has shown me most of upper management has no clue what their employees actually do. Back when we still used tape cartridges at MSU a programmer was running a job that kept mounting tape after tape after tape. The supervisor decided she was going to help me, she only made it more confusing and a bigger mess. I was relieved when she finally left.
Except for my current job I’ve not worked anywhere where upper management had a clue.
@cjcrew @TomeReader @Mrs_Bones @Heucuva8 I am a middle manager, which means upper management blames me, while my staff ignore me.
@Dashdrum @TomeReader @Mrs_Bones @Heucuva8 Middle management is the red haired step child.
@TomeReader @Heucuva8 @Mrs_Bones it made me switch jobs a year ago.
