One day last summer, I was walking home, very pooped and I saw something that perked me up. This guy was out walking his tortoise. Leisurely stroll. He just hung out while the tortoise munched on the grass before moving on… about 6 inches. Made my day.

Ah. I know how that feels. I dodged it until MY BIRTHDAY last July when my fabulous life partner brought it home. He pick it up the virus at a Negotiations workshop with a bunch of lawyers. My birthday party was canceled 😞

I was at an academic conference a while back and a very confident gentleman in the audience asked a question of the presenter. The presenter was a smallish woman, big glasses, she researched and wrote on sociology of science. I thought she was brilliant. The guy asked, very forcefully, "But what was your METHODOLOGY??" She responded, "Reading. And thinking."
@jenebene I saw the guy one time after that. Apparently, he was fairly well known in the neighborhood. Lovely turtle, too.

New research looks at the effects of repeated Covid infections and finds pretty much what you would expect: you not only do not get any kind of superimmunity, you increase your risk of long-term consequences, hospitalization and death.
The worse news is that this holds true regardless of vaccination status.
COVID IS NOT OVER
@Tattoomonkey29 that is so hard. Sending light and live to surround you both. Right now. 💕
Such a sore loser. You don’t win a court case based on “thoughts, feelings and tinhat theories”. #Lake

1 of his hobbies is to take pix. he's a little shakier these days but walking is helpful for some of his conditions so he does it everyday that he can.
he knows daisies are my fave flower. so he sent me an email full of pix of daisies he took this summer. it was so lovely to open. 😊
