This week, we met with the auctioneers who are going to hold our estate sale. Today, we made a schedule to prepare for the home visit at the end of the month. Then we prep for the sale to occur in Oct. Once that’s done, we’ll do home repairs in winter and put the house for sale in the spring. Our plan is to move to Spain by May or June. Feeling hopeful we can keep things moving along and that the house will sell quickly.
@TheRealDelia Thank you!!! It is not easy doing everything you are doing. 💪🏽🍀
Being nosy: where is the house you are selling?
@ACG2 Mid Missouri. We live in a big old house directly across the street from a private university, and I’m hoping a professor, administrator, or even an alum will buy it. It’s great as a family home, but I ran it as a bed and breakfast for a few years, and we kept pretty busy.
@TheRealDelia You probably have already checked out SabbatticalHomes.com Faculty types list there for home exchange when on sabbatical...and some are for rent/sale.
If it were in Ithaca, NY, I'd be interested!
Good Luck!🍀
@ACG2 Thank you! I’ll check it out!
@TheRealDelia oh, I noticed they don’t do sales - only rentals and exchanges. Sorry. I thought there was a sale link too.
@ACG2 That’s okay! We may do that too.
@TheRealDelia thanks for the share, tracking.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN Thanks! I’m feeling good about our decision to make this giant change. We’re going in November for 10 days to scope out the neighborhoods and meet up with some friends from Spain and Germany. One friend has a sister who lives in the town we’re interested in, so I’m hopeful we can have at least one family we will know when we make the big move.
- Meanwhile, I’m simultaneously working hard as County Democratic Party chairperson and the regional Democratic Party secretary. I was a delegate to the regional and state convention too, and I’m terrified they’re gonna ask me to take on a state committee role as well. Not because I don’t want to help, but I’m already feeling swamped.
