Autism Super Mom Day is marked on April 27 each year. As a part of Autism Awareness Month, the day was created to celebrate the strength, courage, and determination of mothers of children with autism. It is also a day to educate others about the challenges and rewards of raising a child with autism. Few disorders can rival the depth and breadth of autism, as it affects the child and their entire family.
Mothers of children with autism are often called βsuper momsβ because theyβre doing so much more than other parents β taking care of their children 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This can lead to stress and exhaustion, which isnβt suitable for anyone. So they need to take time out for themselves too!
