Completely saturating your hair with water before introducing shampoo is key to having an easier time in the shower, AND using less shampoo.
**For some people due to:
1) non-water soluble products heavy in oils/butters/waxes OR using RAW oils/butters/waxes
2) going too long in between washing (the *minimum* is 5 days)
3) Virgin hair is naturally low porosity
4) Coarse hair has a thicker cuticle layer
It may take up to 15 minutes to complete saturate your hair with water.

Follow

Rinse. And. Repeat. Until. Your. Hair. Is. Clean.
Rinse and repeat until your hair is clean.

How many times is that?
***Depends***
How much product do you use?
How long ago was your last wash?
What is your hair exposed to in the meantime?
Did you rinse and repeat until clean the last time you washed it? Or is last week's oil/product actually still there?

For some people, could be 6, for some *probably* 2.

@TheHairlockSupreme

Or you can be like me and buzz cut your hair to about 3/4” and use homemade African black soap for both hair and body lol

It completely saturates in about 5 seconds and the soap has a tiny bit of leftover ash lye in it, so any oils in my hair are saponified and stripped away by the hot water.

I don’t have to worry about keeping my hair healthy. By the time it fries, it’s already grown past the 1” mark and is ready to be cut off, leaving behind only non-tortured hair :P

@GlytchMeister I'm only offering at this time. I am not qualified to give skin care advice.

I recommend following an esthetician or a dermatologist for advice on how to better take care of your skin.

Oh I was talking about my hair - I was just poking fun at my own hair “care” routine
