I asked this question on the bird platorm (ya, ya, I know, my bad), & wanted to see if anyone had any ideas because I honestly don't get why he did it.

"Why would Trump keep docs @ Maralago?"

(I cannot think of a worse, less secure place. ) Am I missing something?

Thx guys. Figures.
On the bird platform I get inept trolling responses.
On COSO I get intelligent discourse.
Saving my musings for here. Have a good one!

@TempestFugit I think it was partly his hubris, and maybe also a dare, to see or prove that he can get away with anything. Or he simply didn’t care and was too arrogant to think anyone would be pursuing?

@ToriLRidgewood Yeah I can see that, if one considers oneself above the law then it really doesn't matter what is/isn't secured. He's still untouchable in his mind. (Ty the obvious was escaping me. A 'the-ketchup-is-in-front-of-my-face' fridge scenario).

@TempestFugit

Honestly, I think there were two reasons. First is that he thought he'd be have total control over them there, and he loves the illusion of control. Second is that to him, they were kind of like hunting trophies and a 'promise' of his return to the White House. I think in his mind it tied to his still being the president no matter what anyone else said. Much in line with that fake Time cover with him on it they showed he had at one of his properties when he was first running.

@misterfive Ty, I hadn't considered his ego. (Huge oversight). I was thinking strictly tactical, with easy acces to St.Martin, I would have dropped them there, but yeah I can see him using them as 'trophies'', that tracks.

@TempestFugit

Yeah, he's all about protecting the ego. He's shown repeatedly that any tactical thinking he does is subservient to that.

@misterfive Well that's a good thing for the investigators but wow, that's tough perspective for me to wrap my mind around. It's quite illogical.

@misterfive Must be terribly frustrating for his security & advisors.

@TempestFugit

But lucrative for them when they end up writing their tell-all books. I may have an atomic-sized violin for them somewhere.

@TempestFugit I would agree w/ what most have said. I 100% think there's a "trophy" aspect to this. As far as there not being a less secure place - you're 100% correct, but I'm certain security wasn't on his mind. He showed throughout his time in the wh no concern for protocol --

@TempestFugit which, i'm all about challenging authority, but with someone that has that much power (a president), there's a reason literally every second of your day is tracked, calls logged, etc. It's basically the result of never being told no in your life imo.

@TempestFugit Trump believes he is untouchable. Who would have the nerve to hold him accountable. Trump is totally insane. His actions are not logical they are delusional. This creature wanted to have a front roll seat for the insurrection. He was upset when S.S. refused. Remember he seen the coup attempt as a show of how much people loved & worshiped him. Trump is a dangerous nut case reason is not part of his makeup. He voiced no concern with MAGAts wanting to lynch Pence. Sick
