@vb25 I don't know where you live, but around me in the NJ/NY area, the waiting list for police applicants can be years long.

They are spoiled for choice and it's very hard to see how higher salaries as a response to bad work would solve the problem of people who view the public as an enemy in need of control.

Raise police budgets when they do well, raise police budgets when they do poorly! Tax cuts when the economy is strong, tax cuts when the economy is weak!
