@Tail COSOCOM isn't doing anything right now. Look up top and see if one of your tabs is putting out sound.
@MisterE It was the CoSo tab, was definitely a feed from either LE or EMS. Didn't last long. I've got ostrich mode going, same thing happened a couple days ago, J said he'd look into it. Was hoping it wasn't just me hearing it.
@Tail Is your COSOCOM scrolling with it's message right now?
@MisterE Nope, the UI isn't even up for me to see it if it was.

@Tail OK. Se the banner up towards the top on the left, above the Post box and above the Search space? That's like a factory reset thing. Next time that happens, just click that banner.

@Tail Edit Profile, Preferences. Scroll down and you will see Ostrich Mode. Uncheck or Check the box.

@Tail Wouldn't worry too much about that. Seems to me you're doing just fine.

@Tail Don't know what to tell you. Using the CTRL plus or minus is to get you to where you're comfortable with what you are seeing on-screen.
@MisterE Okay so I check ostrich mode to turn it on and hit save. The page refreshes, I look and the box is unchecked. I'm hearing comms but can't see the ticker or radio etc. So it seems that ostrich mode is just hiding the UI but not actually turning the radio off?
@Tail COSOCOM isn't tracking any alerts right now. In other words, you're not going to hear anything from it. Whatever you're hearing, it's something other than COSOCOM.
@MisterE Hm. 'cause I'm listening to cops responding to a DV involving a female and a male with a gun at Brookdale and Pasadena, wherever that is.
Ostrich mode says it removes the channel selector as well, which comes and goes but that's the only element.
Whatever's going on I think there's something funky with ostrich mode.
@MisterE Okay I figured it out. At the bottom of the preferences page where it says save changes, that button doesn't save the changes to ostrich mode. It seems to just refresh the preferences page.
@Tail Does that resolve your hearing sound?
@MisterE Well the sounds were very intermittent so I can't say for sure yet, but at least I'll be able to see where it's coming from and be able to troubleshoot it if it's still an issue.

@MisterE Nope, ostrich mode on and sound still coming through. Think that's something for J to tackle at some point.

@MisterE Yeah I turned it on and the sound was coming through as expected. Then I turned it off properly, still hearing the sounds. Other users were experiencing the same thing a few days ago.
@Tail OK. I'll be interested to hear what J says.
@Tail OK. Uncheck Ostrich Mode. Go back and hit the upper left banner. Figure out where your audio is coming from and kill it. Don't play with settings or you'll get all tangled up and people won't be able to figure out what you've done.
