All the strongest passwords, proxies, authenticators, padlocks and bodyguards don't mean anything if you can't identify what not to click.

@Tail It was one of the first lessons of the net I was given all those years ago. Yet, I continue to have to repeat and repeat again this warning to folks I know of all generations. It simply mystifies me why some are so unaware or have lapses of judgment when it comes to this.

@CherNohio I remember the moment I learned the lesson, was when I was about 13, playing video games and someone started playing for me. A little chat box popped up that I couldn't close, had a fun conversation with a grey hat. Haven't really had any problems since.

@Tail
Mine was as I was browsing one of those pop up alerts began flashing incessantly “Alert! Alert! Your computer has been infected. Click here now to fix the problem!” (Or some bs like that.)

That little voice in my head kicked in and after a few deep breath’s, I closed the pop up without clicking anything and promptly ran my virus scan. Then made a call to my computer guru at the time and said “tell me everything you know!” 😬

@CherNohio yeeeh, the internet can be a dangerous place, but it's also easy to be safe if you pay attention and don't have enemies trying to pay more attention than you.
