He was a bench warmer on the team. That's basically 8 months for felony trespass. It sets a floor for the rest of the folks who actually committed big-boy crimes like assault, damage, injury, theft, etc...
@thereal_renaissance_man but what if the team murdered a guy though
@Tail
Oh, I personally think they all need to be made examples of...
But the prosecutors did not directly tie him to any of the harmful elements and I am all for laws being followed... so, in this case, basically trespassing was apparently the best they could do.
It's still a felony, which he will carry with him until some future fascist leader pardons him.
@Tail
Do I sound cynical? I am. My intellectual pacifist foundation is sorely tempted towards some very not-peaceful outcomes for some of these folks, and I distrust *all* of the politicians (Dem and GOP) so completely that I can't trust anything will be properly addressed - so, yeah.
@thereal_renaissance_man I'm exactly there with you. I think the entire thing is being minimized to shit, these idiots were meant to be sacrificed from the start. Keeping the bar low so the people up top, if it came to it, would have a low floor to stand on.
It's going to be another interesting year to see how this all plays out. I doubt any of the cops that ushered the mob in will see a day in prison, but I'm hopeful.
@thereal_renaissance_man The footage of the cops removing the barricades and waving them in directing them where to go comes to mind, as do the videos of them basically standing at attention for the crowd to pass them.
The mob wouldn't have even known what to do or where to go if they hadn't been given orders from Trump and directions from the police.
Though I honor the ones that fought back to the ones who fought back.
