Book recommendations if you're into fantasy.
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
Night Angel Trilogy and Dark Prism series by Brent Weeks
All amazing.
@Tail I really liked the Iron Druid series by Kevin Hearne. Helped me ease back into fantasy after a long hiatus of non-fic, school, & professional reading. A broken up series with shorter books was a bit easier than some of the long fantasy. Thank you for the recommendations. I'll need some to get over my Game of Thrones reading. If all these GOT characters aren't dead by the end of the series I'm killing them off in my head. Ugh
Stupid promise to read the books.
@jds_again Amen to that. The show really ruined it but I still have hope for the books. I don't have the attention span for a long series.. Lookin' at you, Wheel of Time..
But these are all short and honestly difficult to put down. All of them are incredibly charming. I'd start with either Lies of Locke Lamora or the first Name of the Wind for sure. Happy reading!🙏
@jds_again I started reading the books after the Red Wedding in the show and it actually helped. The casting was perfect and being able to visualize the characters and hear their voices, Tyrion and Jaime especially, it really enhanced the experience.
I got like 1/5 of the way through book five when the show ended, haven't looked back since, even though I want to. D&D murdered the show so badly.
