@Tail what a sweetheart, and all dogs deserve that. Been in dog rescue for decades, they are all good dogs, just bad humans sometimes

@JeSsA

@Tail I showed a Pom named Teddy. He was like a teddy bear come to life, tiny bundle of freaking cuteeeee. Happiest little guy. I adored him

@JeSsA I never really considered myself a smaller dog guy until I met Juju. Now I've got a huge soft spot for Poms/Eskimo dogs.

Absolutely love them to pieces. Working with so many different breeds is such a cathartic learning experience.

@Tail I’ve got one of each, kinda. A big Boxer, and a small(er)(ish) (60lb🤣) Pug/Pit rescue, who is like a bowling ball on legs. He’s squishy AF and I adore them both.

@JeSsA Aweee, omg rescues make the best pets. They know they've been rescued and they appreciate it.

My dream job is being an animal rehabilitation..ist. The people that teach injured dogs to walk again and whatnot.

@Tail I love it! I love all dogs. Rescue and purebred. Obvs big into purebred because of the whole show thing, and I believe I preserving integrity and health of the breed through selective, limited, health tested breeding, but I love the f out of rescues as well. Dogs are magic, and healing.

Rebab work is very fulfilling, I hope you reach your dream with that

@JeSsA Thank you.🙏

I'm torn on how I feel about the mixed breeding, there are a lot of issues that come with it. Bulldogs for example.

But there are also some really nice mixed breeds. I've got a softspot for the mutts and runts. Chocolate labs, Corgis, Poms and Eskimo dogs are what I've had, so I have soft spots for them. I'm a huge fan of Great Pyreneses too. The mixed breeds with them touch my heart differently.

@Tail that’s me with Boxer’s, Dobe’s and Labs. I love all breeds. My pet peeve are “doodles”. I don’t care who a poodle fucks, it’s still a mutt. Labradoodle, Bernadoodle, Cockadoodle, same with any shizpoo chiweenie whatever and what not. I don’t care what. It’s a mutt. And people pay thousands of dollars. And I will die on this hill, IDGAF. Go adopt. I do get the allergy aspect, with doodles, but the fact ppl make $ off others ignorance & buy in to “cute”names drives me nutsssss

@JeSsA Yup! So I live in Alaska right, and out in the villages they've got like, pure bred red huskies, malamutes, all kinds of dogs that would sell for thousands, and they just kick them around. Treat them like absolute garbage, it boggles my mind. And they make some of the BEST dogs.

@Tail ugh. That’s heart breaking. Are these Iditarod dogs? Some people have dogs purely as business. Those people have no business being involved with dogs, IMO.

@JeSsA The Iditarod dogs are usually well taken care of. I mean out in the villages where there's actual nothing. Just mud and shacks and a 100% rate of sexual assault.

But the Iditarod gets taken seriously and really, the dogs they have just WANT to run run run run run. We had lots of huskies come to the daycare and I just could NOT keep up. They're so smart, too.

@Tail Smart, sneaky, and excellent escape artists! And boy, they can talk 😆😆

@JeSsA YUP! This is Kaia, whenever she went home she would sing in the lobby If You're Happy And You Know It. She was a spoiled princess and wanted to be carried everywhere. Like she would just up and jump at you expecting you to catch her. If she wanted attention she would go outside and shut the door behind her knowing I had to come let her in because there were other dogs out there. I can hear this picture. AND we dyed her trail purple.

@Tail That just breaks my heart. It's the same on the rez down here in NM. No spay or neuter so there's a huge problem.

@JeSsA

@Tail and how lucky you are to be in such beautiful country! I flew up a few times to show at the Cook Inlet Kennel Club show. It’s stunningly beautiful up there. I hope to go back some day.

@JeSsA
A friend of mine recently adopted a Cockerpoo. I was super skeptical and I confess I am impressed. She has an exceptional temperament, is keen to be trained and very affectionate. Plus the allergy benefit. A really wonderful dog.
Yeah she's a mutt, but a good one 😁
@Tail

@stueytheround @Tail Ohh they’re all good dogs! But a cocker spaniel and a poodle have a baby, it isn’t a new “breed”, it’s a mutt! Titus is Pug/Pitbull. He’s a mutt, not a Pugbull or whatever dumb name someone might come up with 😆he’s just a rolly polly wrinkled love muffin!

@JeSsA
Though you have to admit pugbull is a bloody cool name for a dog 🤣 @Tail

@JeSsA That's true, I'm not super keen on all the nomenclature of dog lingo, but I don't really like names like Corgusky or whatever.

Though anything mixed with corgis is adorable

@Tail agreed! Dogs are adorable! Period! The name thing, it’s just people praying on naiveté. Touting it as a new “breed” to those who know no better. Same as buying pets in a pet store. You can get a well bred, health festered. purebred dog from a quality breeder for 1/3 what you’re going to pay for a puppy mill bred puppy in a pet store, but most people have no idea and don’t put in the little work it would entail to find out. I’m all about education

@Tail In purebred breeding, there’s temperament tests, heart tests, hip & elbow x-rays, eye testing and dna testing for genetic conditions specific to the relative breed. Time and care is put in to breeding the healthiest, most breed standard conforming dogs. It’s a labor of love, not money.

Like I said before though, I love all breeds and all breeds deserve alllllllllll the love! 😍😍😍
