@SuzE43_ I know it. I was sitting in Iowa in '99 thinking what the fuck am I doing back here. I decided to go back to SF, even though I knew it was gonna be rough. I did it anyway.

@BlueVoter24 You are a tough guy, and chose your own path. It took a lot of courage to do that. I bet you are happy on the path you have chosen. I feel very lucky to know you, and consider you to be a very good friend. The contrast between SF and Iowa helped you along, I'll bet.

@SuzE43_ I left SF for the midwest in '89. To be brutally honest, I wanted to get away from the drug scene.
I liked getting to know the family (a few of them) again, and finding work wasn't hard. But after ten years, I was done and ready to come back, even though I was a bit old for starting over. It was the 3rd time I started from scratch in SF.

@BlueVoter24 The nice thing about starting over, there are no rules. You get to define the terms.
