Makes you think: Since 1980, more than 40,000 scientific publications have been retracted. They either contained errors, were based on outdated knowledge or were outright frauds.
According to the journal Nature, 10,000 research papers were retracted in 2023 - a new record: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-023-03974-8
