Contrary to popular misconception, we tend to get more liberal as we age, not more conservative. It’s just that society as a whole gets more liberal even faster, and that lag creates the illusion that older generations are becoming more conservative. We’re not, we’re just taking longer to catch up
@SteveCarll67 Also, the way it used to work, at least in the US, was people used to be more liberal when they were young and poor, and more conservative after they got theirs and worried about their retirement account interest rates and property values.
Well, when people never _get_ theirs...
Also, poorer people spend more time helping their poor friends, relatives and neighbors out, and people who are rich lose those opportunities for empathy.
