Thank you dear CoSo for this place to share. I appreciate being able to vent a little while helping me process things.
I took today off and now that I've made the decision to wait and see for a few months, I'm in a much better space, have let go of my own anger and sadness for a bit.
On Monday if you'd told me I'd be happy and looking forward to the weekend, I'd not have believed you. It's amazing how reframing to a gratitude attitude helps you get there โบ๏ธ๐
Love y'all!!!
And the cherry on top is my clients are also top notch folks for the most part, and I feel like I'm providing a noble service in helping to protect them.
Unfortunately some things outside our sphere of control has made changes to policies some of us may be unable to live with and are actively looking for other jobs.
Change is inevitable, but I was so hoping my unicorn work time would last a bit longer. Now I'm weighing my options while being grateful for all the unicorn moments I've got left
My time with my current employer has been the literal best of my career. I came here because I was interested in a specific security product, and I'd get to be involved in those projects. And now I'm at the point of managing large scale implementations for high touch clients, which I love. When you hire by recommendation for culture in a multicultural leadership team, you end up with a best of the best dream team, and I have loved work for 4 years now
#FUNFACT Engineer Judith Love Cohen created the Abort-Guidance system which helped save the crew on Apollo 13 on the same day she gave birth.
Taking a printout of the problem she was working on to the hospital, she later called her boss to tell him that she'd finished the problem... and given birth... to JACK BLACK.

Thought I'd share some during and after pics of our backyard flooding this week (don't worry, all is well). We lost 1.5 paddles, but kayaks and house made it through with no damage ๐
Y'all, our backyard flooded for the first time since we moved here. It was a tremendous amount of water. Thankfully the kayaks shifted locations but are still there.
Some small things may have floated away but all in all, from a distance it looks like we weathered the flood ok. It'll be interesting to see what things look like after all the water recedes and we can get into the back 40 part again

As much time and attention you focus on people you dislike,
Be sure to spend at least that same amount of time thinking about the people you love and value.
Double would be better.

I think my resolution this year is going to be finding more joy in movement. I work at home and hate "exercise." But I love playing with my kiddo, pets and taking my walks daily barring bad weather. I'm going to find other ways to be intentional about being active, hopefully in a way that doesn't feel like more work since my cup overflows in that regard ๐คฃ
Since I'm from the South, I have that natural politeness of saying "please" & "thank you" ingrained in me, which has carried over into my Siri talks (which has amused my Hubs to no end) ๐คฃ
And Siri has now started saying "you're welcome," which I adore. I know it's just an algorithm driving it, but I love the thoughtfulness of whomever decided to make that happen ๐
Hooray for courtesy ๐
Check out your entropy. We all have our own unique one. You do not need to be pro to see it ๐
