I love the pics @GlindaHarrison takes of me - the lighting effects are really good on this one, too!
Please join me in wishing my son Jamie Harrison a very happy 38th birthday!
Jamie is a phenomenal musician and tremendously multifaceted in his gifts. In a world that celebrities cruelty, he is also empathetic, compassionate and ethical. These qualities are rare and valuable. Let’s all salute Jamie and wish him a fantastic day and year ahead!
Pic by Jamie's mom @GlindaHarrison when he was going through cancer treatment at age 3. Thankfully, they got the cancer and it has not returned.
RE COVER DESIGN for (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone: In the midst of the rockstar performance fanfare we see, the gold digger within the song only sees him as a mark. He is completely objectified and that's why he’s in the distance. Still, he’s singing how he's not going to let her take advantage of him. Cover design: View Maniac. @stueytheround To you, my brother!!!! ♥
Especially in In today's culture, many people have no concern for how their actions impact others, or any guilt (considered archaic) for the pain and suffering they cause. But for those of us who do care about others, our guiding light is in continuing to become better and more evolved beings, especially by improving the way we treat everyone -- and all of us can do better!
The recent release of (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone is part of a joyous plan to get my back catalog plus new music out there for everyone! What I'm asking you to do is to support the releases in any way you can. Purchase, listen, stream, share, and spread the word. Your support makes all the difference for the better.

RE LEAD VOCAL for (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone. The vocal engineer recommended that I sing the track in different sections because the range is quite large (two and a half octaves), to make it easier to do.
However, I thought his approach would diminish the intensity, so I decided to sing the song all the way through, which I did from beginning to end. Check it out!

I'd love for you to join me in wishing former Skafish band member, phenomenal musician, amazing attorney, and long time friend, Karen Winner, a Happy Scorpio Birthday!! Karen’s powerhouse guitar work and crystal clear singing voice added a fantastic dimension to the Skafish band. As an attorney, Karen is currently representing Joey Ramone’s brother in legal issues regarding the Ramones, who Skafish opened for while Karen was in my band. Please join me in wishing a very Happy Scorpio Birthday to a fantastic musician, former Skafish band member, and longtime friend, David Prochazka. We first met when we were both accompanying the choirs on piano in the Catholic high school we attended! Let's all salute David and wish him a great year ahead! In case you missed it a few days ago, check out my previously unreleased cover of (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone.
Like many Skafish tracks, there is a mixture of elements. My version combines classic rock, punk, new wave, and pop, all done in my own way.. Are there any other styles that you notice? Which of the styles stand out most to you?

I'm in great company here with a Beatles poster at the very cool record store Raspberries Records in MA. Pic: Bob Roccanti. IRS Records Skafish promo pic circa 1980: Bill Sosin #CoSoMusic
Whenever I see this poster, it reminds me of what a phenomenal night it was!
Fyi, fellow Chicago Punk comrades the Effigies have been touring with the Black Crowes and they also have a new album out called Burned. I just listened to it last night and it is very good! It was touching to hear John Kezdy singing “save my soul” on the final track, especially because John had transitioned into spirit before this record was released. And, we all wish John the very best in the spirit world!
@Animeraider Thrilled you like the piano - I tried my best to make it sing and rock!
Calling all #CoSoMusicians & Skafish fans!
Check out my previously unreleased cover of the 1960s Classic, (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone.
I performed the vocals, piano, guitars, bass guitar, and produced the track. I was joined by drummer Logan Miles Nix, who previously drummed for guitarist John 5. My son Jamie M Harrison & James Diaz joyfully added the handclaps.
