Surprise Release This Friday!
Hint: it's a previously unreleased cover I did of a 1960s classic that was also recorded by Liverpool Five, Paul Revere & the Raiders, and Sex Pistols. Can you guess what it is?
Oh yes! These People Are Nuts! (Pic of the rear cover for the IRS Records 10 year anniversary compilation I was included on!) #CoSoMusic

@Lulz4l1f3 Two incredible bands - great working with them!
@MookyTroubadour Barbie always knew the words, lol! We were just in the moment!
We did our first gig in Belgium on August 9, 1980, when we were on the bill with the Police and XTC. Here are a couple of the shots I am thrilled to share with you. FACTOID: She's Taking Her Love Away was 1 of only 3 songs that IRS Records accepted when we submitted my initial 2nd LP 11/82. In fact, it was the track they liked the most. So, it helped to keep the project going…. Here’s the remastered version: https://skafish.bandcamp.com/track/shes-taking-her-love-away

Whether people love you or hate you, whether you make money or not, whether your praised, ignored, or reviled, the only artistic fire that keeps burning comes from within. #CoSoMusic
Thanks to Brian Turner for featuring my “Disgracing” single in the pic for the New York Times article about East Village Radio. Wishing EVR great success, and Viva revolutionary music! Thanks Duncan White for tagging me and sharing the story with me! #CoSoMusic
4-Decades later, I released those songs on the What's This? 1976 1979 compilation. If you haven't heard it yet, You Invited Me is one of the songs from the session with Robin, and engineered by the great Mike Freeman. All of these recordings were done in either 1 or 2 takes. No or little budget means you must deliver and my band did.

3-When he played the Skafish recordings he produced at a board meeting, all of the other executives hated it. They made him turn off the tape immediately and refused to listen further.

2-Robin had a tremendous sense and understanding of music. He had produced/executive produced such artists as David Bowie (The Man Who Sold The World), Dave Brubeck, Kraftwerk, and Buddy Miles (Them Changes), to name a few. Regarding my band, Robin’s intention was to get us signed to Mercury Records.

1-In 1977 when my band was causing riots both positively and negatively in Chicago, Robin McBride, a Producer and Director of A&R for Mercury Records in Chicago decided to take my band in the studio and produce four tracks.
