Here's an ad for when Iggy Pop and my band were touring the Midwest 11/79. We did several shows, including a stop in Cleveland, Ohio, dates in Michigan, including Detroit and Ann Arbor, and two Chicago area shows. This ad is for the Club B'Ginnings gig. These were transformative and wild times for sure. Image provided by Ken Voss

I'm so sorry to share the news that Cat Glover has transitioned into spirit.

Many of you know her from her work with Prince, especially on the Sign o' The Times tour and her solo records then.

Before that, Cat worked with me when she was a featured dancer in The Wild Tonight video from my second album. She also performed with me at the Paradise Club when we shared the bill with adult star Seka.

We salute Cat and send her all of our light and love as she moves forward into the spirit world.

I'd love for you to join me in wishing my first cousin and phenomenal DJ Bobby Skafish a happy birthday. Here's a picture of Bobby (2nd from the left) with members of the Dead Boys and others. This was in October 1977 when the Dead Boys played Chicago at the Quiet Knight and my band opened the show. To a fantastic day and year ahead for my cousin Bobby!

Here's an image from my solo show era, circa 1980s. Pic and Graphics by Jeff Mathews. Thanks Chuck Hatfield for sharing this!

Viva independent music!

First, I want to express how grateful I am to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. It means a lot.

Since everyone's birthday begins a new spiritual cycle, l always try to reflect on my just completed trip around the sun and determine what I am going to do better this time around. Again, a big thanks to everyone who remembered me!

2-We also want to take a moment to salute Larry Mazalan, who transitioned into spirit a little over a year ago. Larry was a phenomenal, multi faceted musical talent! Photo: Jean Bukowksi Link to listen in bio.

1-Here’s a pic of former Skafish band members Greg Sarchet (left), and Larry Mazalan (right), circa 1977-78. If you haven't already, I'm sure you'd enjoy hearing their phenomenal performances on the album What's This? 1976-1979. There’s some really radical stuff on that one, including what are considered to be Chicago’s first punk recordings (8-76). Link to listen in bio.

This promo pic from the film Urgh! A Music War was taken when my band was performing the frenetic and defiantly edgy Beefcake Touch in France, while on tour with The Police, XTC, UB40, & The English Beat. This never before released track is now on Conversation & The Rejects, and, like so many Skafish pieces, unlike any other!

Celebrating CBGB today!

It was great being the first Chicago Punk band to play CGBG 4-77 with the Mumps (when I first met Joey Ramone), and 12-77 with the Cramps. And, a big thank you to everyone who was there with us!

Viva revolutionary music!

Circa 1979, here's a collection of promo puzzles of artists managed by Scott Cameron! I am in great company with fellow performers/good friends Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon and Mighty Joe Young! Besides mine, I haven't seen any of these before! Pic: Teresa Cameron Richards

How many of you still listen to music on cassette? Just asking....

Cassette only EP, released 1988, where I'm joined by drummer Jeff Ward (Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Lard), Backing vocalists Nadima (Aretha Franklin), and great horn players, some of whom played for Brian Wilson. Like all of my former releases, this one will be reissued down the road! Pic: Pj Klocek - Cover pic: Jack Stanis

Spring 1976: The first incarnation of the Skafish band takes shape. This shot was taken in the alley behind my house where we rehearsed in East Chicago, Indiana. L-R: Greg Sarchet, Larry J Mysliwiec Skafish, & Larry Mazalan (RIP).
Both our all-consuming ambition and naivete allowed us to give 100%. I am grateful that we changed everything and also, survived it all!
