I'd love for you to join me in wishing my first cousin and phenomenal DJ Bobby Skafish a happy birthday. Here's a picture of Bobby (2nd from the left) with members of the Dead Boys and others. This was in October 1977 when the Dead Boys played Chicago at the Quiet Knight and my band opened the show. To a fantastic day and year ahead for my cousin Bobby! #CoSoMusic
@Skafish XRT, the Drive, and the LOOP Bobby played a part in developing my musical tastes. Happy Birthday BS (not Bob Sirott, although he’s in there too). 🤣
My off the cuff recollection is his playing tracks that might not have been front office approved, but probably broke out bands I would otherwise not know. So please pass along my thanks for keeping radio a “sound salvation”.
