First year that we have tried to grow greens outside during the winter. So far so good with the tiny hoop house. Arugula, spinach, lettuces have all germinated. Several potted pepper plants with fruit and tons of blooms!

I’m in zone 7b. My greenhouse peppers are done and cut back and covered. I will get chives, parsley, celery, strawberries and greens all winter in there. I do put low tunnels on anything tender.

@Katydiddance 7A here. Thanks for that info about low tunnels. We had just been reading about that. We will probably cut back the peppers next week and harvest the last of them. What is your thought about leaving a small 3' tall fig in there? Brought it in the house last year.

@Siriusfarm
I do leave my fig covered in the garden. They die back, but don’t seem to mind it at all. You can build a nice surround and fill with leaves to maintain more undamaged branches.

@Siriusfarm
You’re welcome. Glad to see someone else attempting hoops and greenhouses.
