It is a problem nearly ALL wealthy nations will face including ours.
ALL of the governments' programs and programming is failing.
There is no way these governments can fix the problem. Of course decreasing population is great for the planet. They don't care about it.
They do care that it is cataclysmic for consumption based capitalism.

@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN Capitalism at its core also hates children. It’s hates children because they are by nature non-productive until they reach a certain age. And don’t even get me started on how it treats the disabled. Because of this it’s becoming unsustainable as an economic model. In order to inspire women to have babies, you have to give them a way to do that and capitalism just doesn’t. We’re also never going back to that mid-twentieth century time no matter how hard the GOP try and drag us.
@Siren_six @SECRET_ASIAN_MAN we have paid family and medical leave in WA state. We pay mom up to 16 weeks for recovery and bonding and 12 weeks for dad or SO We are having a baby boom.
Capitalism was always supposed to be regulated. We have had decades of deregulation favoring the rich and unscrupulous. Likely take decades to change without a series of crisi.

Capitalism is definitely more manageable when it’s regulated, we can at least tolerate it, but its history with children is questionable at best.
