This November marks 3 years since I began learning French on Duolingo.

I mostly kept with it as a way to distract myself from the pandemic, but found I like it lot.

I also recently began relearning Japanese on there too.

I took 2 years of it in college 10+ years ago and I’m surprised at how much I’ve retained.

Next, I wanna learn Spanish and German.

Any other aspiring polyglots on here?

@SilentButCuddly I did go with Spanish but found myself hating the gamification in the end

@ianmhill yeah that does get annoying, especially when you just wanna learn and have to stop cuz you run out of lives.

@SilentButCuddly I've swapped over 75% of my generic TV to Spanish since the pandemic. I highly recommend language reactor extension for that! Next is Br Pr or Ladino depending on what fork in the road I choose

@SilentButCuddly i also found anki frequency decks far more suited to my personality than the aggro gamification of luodingo but ymmv

@SilentButCuddly I've been studying Danish since 2017. I read it well now, but I have learned that language learning isn't my strength. I'll be happy to be bilingual.
