U.S. Was Warned of Migrant Child Labor, but ‘Didn’t Want to Hear It’

@Shelleyaw123 this is what happens when undocumented migrants are demonized and oppressed. Teenage boys are coming here to work and send money home to help support their families. They can't enter the country legally, so they sneak across the border and find work somewhere willing to hire them without asking questions. They are making exponentially more than they would at home. It's better than watching their families starve.

@Oma_Trisha

But they’re still under age and states like Arkansas that are raising the amount of hours underage children can work.

There have been several exposés written uncovering underage children working in meat packing facilities and other dangerous situations.

Right now it’s immigrant children. Soon it will be the children of America’s poor and indigent. But it shouldn’t matter - children should be in school. Not cutting up chicken for Tyson.

@Shelleyaw123 I know that and you know that. However, how is an undocumented minor on their own supposed to sign up for school anywhere in this country? They didn't come here to go to school. They came here to work so their families in their home country can survive. This is reality in many countries throughout the world. If Republicans don't get kicked out of office soon, it will be reality here as well.
