Vegans, plz don't read.

In the Philippines some friends offered me a boiled egg and gathered round to watch me eat it.

Fortunately, as a kid in regional Aus and in poorer times, I ate all the yukky animal bits from necessity.

So the "boiled egg" was just a mild surprise - and they were sorely disappointed. And I got *respect* 🙂
