I am so relieved after cleaning up my acct at the Bird Site.
I used semiphemeral.com to remove 69k tweets & God knows how many DMs.
After setting the parameters, I wasn't sure if it was working.
But this morning, voilà, all my tweets and DMs were gone.
I read that accounts shouldn't be deactivated since some bad actor could use the defunct handle.
So, I locked my account, grayed out my header and avatar & left the msg., "It's been a fun run," along with my forwarding address.
Easy.
Underneath your profile icon is a circle with three dots.
Click on that and click Settings & Support.
Select Settings & Privacy.
From the window that opens, select Privacy & Safety.
On the right side of the screen, there are several options:
Select Audience & Tagging.
On the window that opens, select Protect your tweets.
