I do not get the appeal of Roguelikes. I have never understood why when tied to story elements should I care about the mechanics beyond clearing the story.

I am playing God of War Valhalla and the game keeps asking me to make it more challenging, but I honestly can't even be bothered to even care about the fights. It's the same zones and same enemies over and over. I'm just here for the epilogue story of the base game. Could have handled it in a different way imo.

@SentinelOfTruth I can agree with this. As someone who does enjoy roguelikes (or also known as rouge-lites) unless there is a reward to upping the difficulty, then theres no real reason too other than to increase the challenge.

Some games do roguelikes well (Hades is an excellent example) but at their base their aimed at "replay ability" more so over actual content.

Still a free game mode out of the blue is pretty cool for gow 😁
