@Qbae It was about people being mad that kids have it too easy these days, right? The folks I've met who think that way do so because they think the kids will end up "soft" as a result. I'm just saying those two things are not really connected. Didn't mean any harm by it.
@mushrj Anything is possible. They are unidentifiable. Could be legit CBP agents, an assortment of federal agents from various agencies, mercenaries, militia volunteers, Russians...?
The only concrete thing I've heard is that they appear disorganized and poorly trained. Could guess from that that they aren't specifically "protest" police and typically do something else.
@Qbae There's a distinction between making your kids suffer and teaching them to be self-reliant and strong, that I think gets lost in this. I want my son to be as tough and resourceful as I can help him be but I'm not going to make him miserable to get there. I'm going to lead by example and put in the hard work by his side, like my dad did with me.
@avod Ugh. I hadn't seen that yet but it's gross.
@applemcg Yup. That's the approach I'd take too. Obviously they need *some* budget and we do need their services. I don't think anybody is seriously disputing either of those things. But in some cities the police alone take up more than 50% of the entire budget. Totally nuts. An everything-on-the-table reevaluation is necessary and important, as is the theory of how and why we do policing in the first place.
@avod Everything the right does is disingenuous. I'll allow that it didn't use to be that way, but it certainly is now.
@Dane Social engineering to access internal customer support tools that can work around 2FA.

This indicates that Trump plans to 'invade' major cities with his stormtrooper CBP soldiers even at the objection of local authorities or Gov's objections
We're on the verge of a Police State
The Navy Veteran said this was his first protest, and he attended because he was concerned about reports of protestors being arrested without due process.
The Navy Veteran suffered broken bones from the incident

@MrsSpear I've been thinking about replacing my... I dunno... let's say decade-old office chair too, for the same reasons. Haven't done it yet but keeping my ears open for recommendations.
He's the ENTIRE 40 minute train wreck of an interview Trump had with Chris Wallace on Sunday
@Toaster Same here.

@WeThePeople Just my pet theory, but hypothetically it would be possible for a state actor to find this lawyer and his connection to Judge Salas through public records, approach him with a suitcase full of cash, and convince him to do something stupid, then off him once it's done. Disinterested LE here will write it off as just a grudge because that's the easy explanation.

I was reading the threads on the bird site this morning - I'm so PROUD of #MOMTIFA in Portland!
I love how #MomsStandUp are not letting 45 get away with installing his fascism with his jack-booted thugs.
Those Moms are total #Sheroes! π π
@diabolic There are federal troops in my city right now teargassing my friends. China is important but sorry. Not now.
