To sit in solemn silence in a dull, dark, dock. In a pestilential prison with a life long lock. Awaiting the sensation of a short sharp shock. From a cheap and chippy chopper on a big, black, block.

@Botanic @sentientdessert it’s one of the songs from Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Mikado”.

@ScionAltera @Botanic Did not know that. My knowledge of musical theatre is limited, but growing.

@sentientdessert @Botanic My middle school’s 8th graders used to put on a Gilbert and Sullivan musical each year. I think they rotated through four of them. The Mikado was the year before my class, and my best friend had the part that sings that song, so I still remember it well all these years later. :)

@ScionAltera @Botanic I learned Modern Major General for a voice class... that song is so much funnier when you understand the references.

This particularly rapid unintelligible patter isn't generally heard and if it is it doesn't matter!
