#CoSoReaders Open Book bloggers are talking today about under-rated or underappreciated books they love. What's one of yours? https://samanthadunawaybryant.blogspot.com/2024/06/under-appreciated-novels-open-book-blog.html
@LnzyHou i’ve had this one suggested to me several times but I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. Maybe I’ll have to move it further up my TBR.
Haunting.
Caution: Be prepared to read it cover-to-cover in one sitting!
I’ve gifted several people with this book. Almost all say same thing.
@Samanthabwriter The Quincunx by Charles Palliser. No one wants to read a thousand page book, I guess. So now they sell it as 5 separate books. But IT’S ONE BOOK, dammit, with 5 sections. 😡
@AmserJ sounds intriguing. And I’ve not heard of this one before. What do you love about it?
@Samanthabwriter Set across the social strata of Victorian London, the mystery of the main character’s ancestry is unraveled (or is it?). It contains scraps of old maps, a slowly filled in family tree, and of course, a cryptic diary. I read it once a year and my copy is now thoroughly annotated and underlined.
@AmserJ oh my! That does sound like fun.
@Samanthabwriter
The Kite Runner is one of the best I’ve ever read.
