Pharma jacks up prices on common drugs to cash in on insurance. Insurance pulls it off formulary list finally. Who gets hurt? Patients
Forget free market when it comes to healthcare. It just drives up prices without improving services because we can't just "shop" with every health decision.
And I have pretty good insurance in comparison to most.
Need at least a public option and take big pharma off the gravy train.
At pharmacy to pick up a refill on a prescription from my dermatologist. Using it for about ten years on as-needed basis. (Usually it lasts 12-18 months on one refill.)
Presto, the price is $645 because suddenly it is non-formulary for insurance. But also how is a common steroid cream that expensive?
U.S. healthcare system with insurance and pharma playing chicken with our money and health is beyond absurd.
It isn't a life or death drug for me, but these games piss me off.
Do you try to time your vaccines?
I am torn between waiting to get max protection during November and December and just getting it out of the way now.
I'd kinda hate to get the flu or Covid during the period I was holding off. So I trend to doing it sooner.
CDC guidance is as wishy-washy as you might expect on this topic. (It just states the two positions I did.)
#poliitics
TX Republicans when I call BS on their election interference in the name of "integrity." "Why are you afraid of election iNtEgItY?"
#poliitics
More Paxton nonsense in TX. Planning to sue the state fair and Houston Rodeo for being gun-free events. The state fair put in the ban after a shooting at the fair. Houston Rodeo gun-free since 2016.
Massive events with half the crowd armed, what could possibly go wrong?
I know "the algorithm" is the culprit for continually throwing things into my feed that are particularly irritating in general (to evoke more engagement responses.)
But why do I seem to be getting lots of clips of Elon from accounts pretending to be financial this or success that? And the comments are filled with his devotees that seem to worship his every utterance.
I block them as they come to me, but I leave some parting comment about how he has destroyed shareholder value anyway.
#poliitics #Texas
Texas government has been purchased. All these wild ultra-right changes aren't coming from grass roots constituents but two particular donors.
Meet the real people changing our lives.
#politics More shady stuff starting in TX.
The criminal AG Paxton doing what his owners want.
@Alfred What is your investment advice right now? Should we expect a bull market or a bear market? And either way, where should we invest?
Derschowitz you know as staunch Trump defender as well.
Then there is the prosecutor and police in Epstein's pocket who let him get away with it for so long with weak penalties. That guy served as Trump's Secretary of Labor.
GOP truly projects, with every accusation a confession. They justify all their draconian positions to "protect the children". Yet, people guilty of actually victimizing children show up at every turn, even rewarded for protecting actual predators.
Listened to a multi-part podcast on Behind the Bastards on Jeffrey Epstein. Yeah, I thought I knew most of it, but I didn't. Noted were the people around him, enabling him, who turn u0 later.
Defending him along the way, keeping him free? Alan Derschowitz and Ken Starr, the same Starr who wasted years being a crusader against Clinton. The same who served as President of Baylor University, then was forced out because of cover ups of sexual violence. Hypocrisy? Yep
Corporations aren't people. They are the enemy of the people.
They aren't going away, but we need to elect people who will at least seek to regulate the harm they will do without restrictions.
No one should be using Donald Trump's name without the descriptor Convicted Felon Donald Trump.
Ordered my t-shirts and yard sign for Harris-Walz. Apparently shipping on 9/5.
I live on the frontier in TX, outside the solid blue Houston city, but gerrymandered out of a Pub district precisely because voting was near even. So now we are part of the solid blue Houston district to protect from flipping Crenshaw out of a job.
We have backup signs in case of shenanigans, but we didn't have problems in 2020. 🙂
To have somebody just talking regular.....Kamala might as well break dancing .

Can we just get a new Constitution? A do-ovet?
I have 100% confidence that once again Dems will win the popular vote. But because of the EC only the votes in "battleground states" matter. And that's up in the air.
I lost my reverence for an outdated 18th century document about a decade ago. Flaws and oversights both enabled the existence of this lopsided SCOTUS we have and give cover for them to interpret in it a reversion to 18th century principles.
