Watching the short "Camp Confidential: America's Secret Nazis" compiled from interviews with German speaking Jewish servicemen who worked at the camp outside Washington, DC.
At first, they were charged with interrogating Nazi prisoners about the V-2 program and helped target V-2 sites. Then, they were babysitters for Werhner von Braun and other rocket scientists.
I think about one of their interviews when I hear "both siders" differentiate between fascists and people who are just "okay with fascists" because it helps them.
He said von Braun just wanted to develop his rockets; he wasn't pushing the Nazi line. BUT, OTOH, Jews from the concentration camps were working on the V-2 program. He, and his team, knew what was happening and went along with it. They even worked to help the war effort and therefore to spread Nazi influence.
Sometimes you need to pick a side, because not picking a side because you are okay either way is picking the worse side.
